Festivals and its significance
The festival of Makar Shankranti got over two days back and the importance of this festival set my thoughts flowing . This is one festival that is celebrated all over India in different names. Be it Lohri in North, Pongal in Tamil Nadu,,Makar Shanranti in rest of the country,it is celebration day for the farmers as they thank God for the bountiful crops. We all know that . But the best part is not just the farmers but entire India and its people join in and celebrate.Everyone pitches in with great joy and there is so much brotherhood for that one or two days,eating,drinking,generally merry making. I realised that this festival like other festivals brings people and families together.People forget their ego,their negativity ,their ill thoughts about others and take part in the festivities with full verve and enthusiasm.
